Change of Plans

So two days into the Sheiko template and I'm ready to change it up. I'm sure it works, as there are many lifters having great success with it, but two hours in the gym at a time seems unnecessary for me right now.

My bench needs alot of work, so I've been studying EFS's bench manual for the last few days. After looking at what I used to do, what worked for me the last few months, and what the manual says, I think I have an idea for developing a hybrid conjugate periodization routine that's going to be very effective without overcomplicating my training. I've become alot more comfortable with regulating work load on the go and reading what my body is telling me, and that should make the conjugate method much simpler to employ.

So I'm ditching Sheiko early. Maybe I'll come back to it someday, but for now, that kind of volume isn't necessary for me to break PR's, so I think I'll conserve my extra energy for the fast-approaching PR's I hope to hit before the new year rings in.

By 2010:

405 raw squat, 455 geared
245 paused bench
455 deadlift, 500 geared

These are lofty and I don't care a bit.
